The 2015 NAMI Central Virginia Golf Tournament was held on Monday, May 18th. Over 20 teams of four came to The Country Club at the Highlands to participate in the event!
The golfers spent time on the course competing for a spot among the top three teams. Awards were given out for 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, ‘Closest to the Pin,’ and Longest Putt.
After the players finished the course, they enjoyed a delicious barbecue dinner courtesy of King's Korner and the prizes were distributed.
Over 50 door prizes were raffled off, ranging from gift certificates to season tickets to the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. Over $1,000 was collected for the 50/50 raffle; this was more than ever before!
This year, a very enticing silent auction was introduced. What was the prize? Board director Tessa Shuk donated the use of a beautiful, waterfront rental home in the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a week-long vacation at a tremendously discounted rate. This was quite a generous and innovative prize donation!
NAMI Central Virginia could not have such a wonderful golf outing without the help and support of Sponsors and Donors. Whether it was a dollar or a day at the ballpark, each contribution made a significant impact on the success of the Golf Tournament. Thank you for supporting the NAMI-CVA Annual Golf Tournament and NAMI's mission to improve the lives of those affected by mental illness!
